South Lake Union has become a tech startup incubator — what better place for us to train Code Fellows than in the midst of this fast-growing and ground-breaking epicenter?
The food scene offers an eclectic menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Coffee shops fuel the energy of the neighborhood in the morning with local cafes such as Portage Bay, Zoka Coffee Roasters, Starbucks, and Top Pot Doughnuts, all within two blocks of Code Fellows. Over a dozen food trucks pepper the streets from 11am to 2pm with lines that attest to their delicious options. Nearby restaurants including Brave Horse Tavern, Cactus, and Flying Fish welcome patrons for happy hour in the evening.
The neighborhood also has its fair share of recreational attractions, such as the Museum of History and Industry (pictured below), located in the park on the edge of Lake Union. REI and several crossfit and yoga gyms are all within walking distance as well.
This video, produced by Soulmoto, tells even more about the wide diversity of companies, restaurants, and people that make up South Lake Union’s culture.
